Argentina formally withdraws from the WHO, effective March 2026

Argentina formally withdrew from the World Health Organization (WHO), with the exit effective 17 March 2026. The completion followed one year after President Javier Milei's government submitted formal notification to the United Nations in March 2025. The government argued that leaving the WHO gives Argentina greater flexibility to design health policies suited to national interests without external interference.
