CPWD Celebrates 172nd Annual Day; MoH&UA Unveils 'SANKALP' Framework

On 12 July 2026, the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), the premier engineering organisation under the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoH&UA), celebrated its 172nd Annual Day at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Union Minister Manohar Lal unveiled the 'SANKALP' framework and released two books — "India's Urban Transformation: Reflections from Policy and Practice" and the coffee-table book "India's Urban Momentum: Towards Making Our Cities Liveable". CPWD DG Satinder Pal Singh and MoH&UA Secretary Srinivas Katikithala were present.

Speaking at the CPWD (Central Public Works Department) Foundation Day, he said the precinct - comprising the Kartavya Bhawans, Kartavya Marg and future government buildings - reflects India's own identity over its colonial past.
