Punjab Police Constable selection is a three-stage process — a Common Computer Based Test (CBT), a Physical Screening Test (PST) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT), and Document Scrutiny. Paper-I decides merit (after normalization); Paper-II is a qualifying Punjabi paper. There is no negative marking.

Computer Based Test (CBT)
Two MCQ papers — Paper-I (100 marks, decides merit) and Paper-II (50-mark qualifying Punjabi). Conducted in multiple shifts with score normalization. No negative marking.
Physical Screening Test (PST) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
Qualifying OnlyQualifying. PST — Male (incl. ESM <35): 1600m run in 6 min 30 sec, Long Jump 3.80m, High Jump 1.10m. Female (incl. ESM <35): 800m run in 4 min 30 sec, Long Jump 3.00m, High Jump 0.95m. PMT verifies minimum height (Male 170.2cm, Female 157.5cm). All events must be cleared.
Document Scrutiny
Qualifying OnlyVerification of original certificates — age, education, Punjabi, domicile, category, NOC/ESM documents. Failure to produce originals ends candidature.

Important Marking Rules
- No negative marking — attempt every question.
- Each correct answer carries +1 mark in Paper-I.
- Merit is based on normalized Paper-I marks only; Paper-II (Punjabi) is qualifying and excluded from merit.
- Answer key is published after the last shift; candidates get 48 hours to raise objections (₹50 each, refunded if upheld).
