About SBI PO
The State Bank of India has released notification CRPD/PO/2026-27/09 to recruit 1,500 Probationary Officers (PO) in Junior Management Grade Scale-I. The online application window is open from 18 June 2026 to 8 July 2026, and the post is open to graduates from any discipline. SBI PO is widely regarded as the most prestigious entry-level officer role in Indian banking, with an all-India career, rapid progression and postings anywhere in the country.
Selection is a three-phase process: a Preliminary Examination (objective, 100 marks), a Main Examination (objective 200 marks + descriptive 30 marks), and a final phase comprising a Psychometric Test, Group Exercise and Interview. The Preliminary Exam is only a screening stage — its marks do not count towards the final merit list, which is built from the Main Examination and the Group Exercise & Interview.
With 1,500 vacancies (1,446 regular + 54 backlog), a starting CTC of roughly ₹21.97 lakh at the Mumbai centre, and an established path to top management, SBI PO 2026 is one of the most sought-after banking recruitments of the year. MockSutra provides free full-length mocks, previous-year papers and section-wise practice for every stage.
- 1,500 Probationary Officer vacancies across UR, OBC, SC, ST and EWS categories
