About this exam

Punjab Police has released Advertisement No. 01 of 2026 for the direct recruitment of Constables in the District and Armed Police Cadre. A total of 3,298 tentative vacancies are on offer — 2,522 in the District Cadre and 776 in the Armed Cadre — with online applications open from 10 March 2026 to 30 March 2026.

Selection is a three-stage process: a Common Computer Based Test (CBT) with Paper-I (100 marks, merit) and a qualifying Punjabi Paper-II (50 marks), followed by a Physical Screening Test (PST) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT), and finally Document Scrutiny. Merit is decided solely on normalized Paper-I marks, and there is no negative marking.

Candidates must be 18–28 years old as on 1 January 2026 (with relaxations for reserved categories), hold a 10+2 qualification, and must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a subject.
