Overview
About IBPS Clerk
IBPS has released the CRP CSA-XVI notification for the recruitment of Customer Service Associates — the clerical cadre post previously advertised as IBPS Clerk — in eleven participating public sector banks. The advertisement covers vacancies arising in the financial year 2027-28, with online registration and fee payment open from 1 August 2026 to 21 August 2026.
Selection is a two-tier online process: an Online Preliminary Examination followed by an Online Main Examination. There is no interview. Only the marks obtained in the Main Examination count towards the final merit list; the Preliminary is purely a screening stage. Candidates who are provisionally allotted must additionally clear a qualifying Local Language Proficiency Test before joining.
Recruitment in the clerical cadre is done State/UT-wise, so a candidate may apply for vacancies in one State or Union Territory only and must be proficient in that State's specified local language. The option, once exercised in the application form, is irrevocable.
- 11,403 posts indicated across 11 banks — and Union Bank of India has not yet reported its numbers, so the total will rise.
- No interview stage: the Main Examination score alone decides the merit list.
- Graduation in any discipline qualifies — no specialisation or prior banking experience required.
- State-wise vacancies mean the competition you actually face is your own State's cut-off, not an all-India one.
- Punjab has 481 posts and Rajasthan 392 in the indicative Annexure-I breakdown.
