Solutions

10 answers · same numbers
1233.(D) To provide market relevant skill training to Youth

SANKALP (Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion), launched in 2017 with World Bank support, aims to give young people skill training that matches what the job market needs. It has nothing to do with healthcare or school education.

1234.(A) 1 and 2

ASHA is the trained village health worker under the National Rural Health Mission. Janani Suraksha Yojana gives cash assistance for institutional delivery, focused on poor rural women. Both are rural health schemes aimed at the rural poor. VAMBAY, launched in 2001, provided shelter to urban slum dwellers below the poverty line. So it is an urban scheme.

1235.(B) The eldest woman aged 18 years or above

Section 13 of the National Food Security Act, 2013 names the head of the household for ration cards. It is the eldest woman of the household, aged 18 years or above. The rule is meant to empower women. Only if a household has no such adult woman is the eldest male member treated as head. He stays head until a woman turns 18.

1236.(D) All four

All four statements are true. Kavach is Indian Railways' home-made automatic train protection system that stops a train if the driver misses a signal; the Diamond Quadrilateral is the planned high-speed rail network joining the four metros; the 508 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train runs between BKC (Mumbai) and Sabarmati; and Indian Railways aims to be a net-zero carbon emitter by 2030.

1237.(A) 1 only

Only statement 1 is correct: an entity counts as a startup for up to 10 years from incorporation. Its turnover must not have crossed ₹100 crore (not ₹1,000 crore) in any year, and a firm formed by splitting up or rebuilding an existing business is not eligible.

1238.(C) Vidya Guru

Vidya Guru is not a government school-education initiative. PM-SHRI upgrades selected schools as model schools, Vidya Pravesh is a three-month school-readiness module for Class 1 children, and Vidyanjali is the volunteer programme that links community members and organisations with government schools.

1239.(B) Only three

Statements 1, 2 and 4 are correct: the Second Plan (Mahalanobis model) pushed heavy industry, domestic savings financed most early investment, and the Eighth Plan (1992-97) came after the 1991 reforms. Removal of poverty ('Garibi Hatao') was the aim of the Fifth Plan, not the Fourth, and indicative planning was introduced with the Eighth Plan, not the Tenth.

1240.(C) 3 only

Only statement 3 is correct: under the National Food Security Act the eldest woman aged 18 or above is the head of the household for ration cards. Identifying beneficiaries and issuing ration cards is the job of state governments (the Centre procures and allocates grain), and the cash-transfer mode runs in Chandigarh, Puducherry and urban Dadra & Nagar Haveli, not Madhya Pradesh.

1241.(C) Five year plans

The Harrod–Domar growth model underpinned India's First Five-Year Plan (1951–56), which stressed savings and investment, while the P. C. Mahalanobis model of heavy-industry-led growth shaped the Second Plan (1956–61). Both are growth models used in Indian planning, not instruments of monetary policy or bank nationalisation.

1242.(B) National Vocational Education and Teacher Training Commission (NVETTC)

NEP-2020 gives the Higher Education Commission of India four verticals: NHERC for regulation, the National Accreditation Council (NAC), the Higher Education Grants Council for funding and the General Education Council for standards. NVETTC is not one of them.

Common questions about Planning & Schemes in PPSC

How many Planning & Schemes questions come in PPSC exams?

The Commission set 67 Planning & Schemes questions across 50 papers between 2015–2026. That is the whole set, not a sample — every one of them is in the book, and the 10 most-asked are on this page free.

Are PPSC Planning & Schemes questions repeated?

Yes. 2 of these 67 were set in more than one exam, which is why they are worth working rather than reading. Each question here carries a badge showing how many sittings asked it.

Where can I get Planning & Schemes MCQs with answers and solutions?

Here. Every question on this page is a solved MCQ: the four options as printed, the correct answer, and a worked explanation in plain English — not just a letter. The rest of the 67 are in the book, in the same form.

Can I practice these Planning & Schemes questions online?

Switch to Attempt mode at the top of the questions. You get one question at a time and it is marked the moment you pick an option, with the reason underneath — the same way the exam feels, on your phone.

Is a PDF available?

The questions are on screen rather than in a downloadable file, so they stay current and correct. The printed book has all 67 of these plus the rest of the General Knowledge section, and every buyer gets the whole thing online as well.

Which papers asked Planning & Schemes

The exams behind these questions, most first. A paper here is a sitting: a question set in two papers of the same sitting counts once.
