9.In which year was Chandrayaan-2 mission launched? In which year was Chandrayaan-2 mission launched?#
Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai (1919-1971) is called the father of the Indian space programme. He persuaded the government to set up INCOSPAR in 1962, established the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station near Thiruvananthapuram in 1963, and founded ISRO in 1969; he had already founded the Physical Research Laboratory at Ahmedabad in 1947. The others each led ISRO later or worked in related fields: Satish Dhawan (option 2) chaired ISRO from 1972 to 1984 and the Sriharikota launch centre is named after him; APJ Abdul Kalam (option 3) directed the SLV-3 project that put Rohini in orbit in 1980 and is called the Missile Man of India; and K. Kasturirangan (option 4) chaired ISRO from 1994 to 2003. Hence the answer is option 1.
