ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਸ਼ਬਦ-ਜੋੜ ਮਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਬੋਲਚਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਚਾਰਨ 'ਮੈਂਦੀ' ਵਰਗਾ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਲੋਕ 'ਮੈਹਦੀ' ਲਿਖ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦੇ ਨਿਯਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਅਜਿਹੇ 'ਹ' ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 'ਹ' ਨੂੰ ਸਿਹਾਰੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਅੱਖਰ 'ਤੇ ਟਿੱਪੀ (ਮਹਿੰਦੀ, ਸਹਿੰਦਾ, ਰਹਿੰਦਾ)। ਮਿਹੰਦੀ, ਮੇਹਿੰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਹੰਦੀ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਰੂਪ ਹਨ।
194.(B) ਨਾਇਬ
