India hosted the 4th BRICS Women Ministerial Meeting on 8–9 July 2026 in Kochi, Kerala, preceded by the Working Group meeting (6–7 July). Ministers adopted a Joint Statement and launched two India-initiated deliverables — the BRICS Women Digital Repository of Best Practices and the BRICS Women Digital Capacity Building Guidelines — covering women's leadership, digital and financial inclusion, and women's role in climate action and food security.

The Bank of Canada unveiled a new CAD 20 banknote carrying the image of King Charles III, the first British monarch to appear on a Canadian note in over seven decades and the first change since the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022. India and Belgium Sign Defence Letter of Intent, Target Doubling of Bilateral Trade in Five Years

UN General Assembly Adopts African-Led Resolution Backing Equal Earth Map Projection

The UN General Assembly on 4 September 2026 adopted an African-led resolution promoting maps that show continents in accurate relative sizes, endorsing the Equal Earth projection and moving away from the 16th-century Mercator projection in education and public mapping.
