PM Modi Inaugurates Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram
PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram, Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh, on 1 August 2026. Built at about Rs 2,800 crore as a joint venture between the Andhra Pradesh government and GMR Group, the greenfield airport handles about 6 million passengers a year in Phase 1 (expandable to 24 million) and replaces the ageing Visakhapatnam airport as the region main gateway.
