Andhra Pradesh Launches Pillale Sampada Initiative for Balanced Population Growth
In July 2026, Andhra Pradesh CM N. Chandrababu Naidu launched the Pillale Sampada (Children are Wealth) initiative during the World Population Day (11 July) programme in Vijayawada, to encourage balanced population growth amid declining fertility and ageing. Under the scheme, families receive Rs 30,000 for a third child and Rs 40,000 for a fourth child, alongside priorities on women education, maternal and child welfare and workplace childcare.
