Dhiraj Bommadevara Becomes First Indian Man to Win Archery World Cup Final Gold
Indian recurve archer Dhiraj Bommadevara won the men's individual gold at the Archery World Cup Final 2026 in Saltillo, Mexico, becoming the first Indian man to win an individual title at the season-ending event. The 25-year-old beat Japan's Junya Nakanishi 6-5, the match going to a one-arrow shoot-off in which Dhiraj shot a 10 against his rival's 9. He is only the second Indian archer to take an individual World Cup Final crown, after Dola Banerjee, who won the women's recurve title at Dubai in 2007. Dhiraj had competed at the 2023 and 2024 Finals without winning a medal.
