PRailways rolls out 8 more Reform Express reforms; total reaches 17Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw implemented 8 more structural reforms under the Reform Express initiative at Rail Bhawan, New Delhi, taking the total to 17. The programme targets 52 reforms in 52 weeks. It runs for 5 years (FY27-FY31) and succeeds the PLI-LSEM scheme (Production Linked Incentive for Large Scale Electronics Manufacturing), which concluded on 31 March 2026. Manufacturers get sales-linked incentives of 2.25%-5%, plus up to 1.5% extra for higher domestic sourcing and an additional 3% for Indian brands investing in design/R&D. Approved under the Make in India initiative, it aims to strengthen domestic mobile-phone manufacturing, raise value addition, boost exports and improve India's global competitiveness in electronics. MPMS will run for 5 years (FY2026-27 to FY2030-31) and succeeds the PLI Scheme for Large Scale Electronics Manufacturing (PLI-LSEM), which concluded on 31 March 2026.
