Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh Visits Cyprus and Greece to Deepen Mediterranean Defence Ties
Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh began a four-day visit to Cyprus and Greece on 12 October 2026 for talks on defence cooperation, maritime security and defence-industrial collaboration. India offered training support to the Cypriot Navy. The visit builds on the Cypriot President's visit to India in May 2026 and the Greek Defence Minister's February 2026 talks with Rajnath Singh, and carries forward the India-EU Security and Defence Partnership. It extends India's Mediterranean push already visible in the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), for which Greece and Cyprus are natural European landfall points, and comes days after KONKAN 2026 with the Royal Navy.
