DoP and TRAI Sign MoU for India's Largest Village-Level Telecom Network Survey
The Department of Posts (DoP) and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) signed an MoU in New Delhi to conduct India's largest village-level telecom network performance survey, covering over 5.68 lakh villages in one year. Over 1.40 lakh Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDSs) will collect field data on the networks of Airtel, Jio, Vi and BSNL using a TRAI-developed Android app. The survey will identify mobile connectivity gaps and support evidence-based policy for rural telecom under Digital India.
