DRDO Invites Private Firms for Strategic Missile Production via DcPP Model
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) issued an Expression of Interest on 18 August 2026 through the Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad, inviting Indian private firms into long-term partnerships for missile and guided bomb manufacturing under the Development-cum-Production Partner (DcPP) model — DRDO handles design, private partners handle prototype integration and mass production. The partnership covers Agni-series missiles, submarine-launched systems and hypersonic missiles under development. Eligible firms need active defence and PESO licences, a net worth above ₹34 crore, and profitability in two of the last five years; proposals are due by 24 September 2026.
