Flying Wedge Defence Signs EUR 6 Million Deal with Portugal's KEYDEF to Build Indian Drones in Europe
Bengaluru-based Flying Wedge Defence & Aerospace (FWDA) has tied up with Portugal's KEYDEF, which is investing EUR 6 million, to manufacture two Indian-designed drones in Portugal for European and NATO markets. The systems are the Kaal Bhairava autonomous UAV, built for long-endurance intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance work and precision strike, and YAMA, a small, stealthy, radar-equipped interceptor that autonomously neutralises hostile drones. All Portugal-built systems are to be NATO-certified, and the partnership is to widen later to FWDA's surveillance, air-defence and civilian portfolio. FWDA's CEO is Suhas Tejaskanda.
