India and Mauritius Sign Government-to-Government MoU on Oil and Gas Cooperation
India and Mauritius signed a Government-to-Government Memorandum of Understanding on oil and gas cooperation at Port Louis on 20 August 2026. It was signed by Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri and Mauritian Minister of Commerce and Consumer Protection John Michael Tzoun Sao Yeung Sik Yuen. Alongside it, Indian Oil Corporation and the State Trading Corporation of Mauritius signed a five-year sales and purchase agreement covering petrol, diesel, marine gas oil and Aviation Turbine Fuel. The pact follows an announcement by EAM S. Jaishankar at the 9th Indian Ocean Conference in Port Louis in April 2026.
