MeitY Selects CoRover.ai to Build a Unified Agentic AI Assistant for Government Services
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology selected Bengaluru-based AI start-up CoRover.ai to build a unified agentic AI assistant and bot platform for government services, with DigiLocker as the first implementation. The contract, awarded by the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) and valued at about Rs 3.63 crore, was decided through Quality-and-Cost-Based Selection, in which CoRover scored a full 100 points against Kyndryl Solutions' 91.24. The build runs four months, followed by 12 months of operations and maintenance. The platform follows an "ask, do and escalate" model with human oversight and safeguards against prompt injection and jailbreak attempts.
CoRover.ai, founded in 2016 and based in Bengaluru, built BharatGPT and the IRCTC AskDISHA chatbot | DigiLocker was launched in 2015 under the Digital India programme and is operated by the National e-Governance Division | MeitY became a standalone ministry in 2016, having earlier been a department under the Ministry of Communications and IT
