National Ayurveda Day 2026 Observed on 23 September with Theme 'Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow'
National Ayurveda Day was observed on 23 September 2026 with the theme 'Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow'. The Ministry of AYUSH marked the 11th edition with national celebrations in Nagpur, Maharashtra, promoting Ayurveda's integration into modern healthcare. The Ministry declared Dhanvantari Jayanti as National Ayurveda Day in 2016, and the first observance was held on 28 October 2016. Because Dhanteras falls on a variable lunar date, the Government of India in May 2025 fixed 23 September as the permanent date, aligning the observance with the autumnal equinox. The day highlights Ayurveda's role in the prevention and treatment of health conditions.
The Ministry of AYUSH was created in November 2014 | AYUSH stands for Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy | The All India Institute of Ayurveda is located in New Delhi
