Navi Mumbai International Airport Begins International Operations

On 15 July 2026, Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) commenced scheduled international operations. Air India Express became the first airline to fly international from NMIA, launching a direct Navi Mumbai-Abu Dhabi service, initially twice weekly (Wednesdays and Fridays), rising to three weekly flights from 29 July 2026. NMIA already handles around 20,000 passengers daily, targeting 50,000 daily movements by year-end. With Abu Dhabi added, Air India Express operates 30 weekly flights from NMIA.
