Odisha Announces an 870-Acre 'Odisha Silicon Valley' at Naraj Near Cuttack
At SEMICON India 2026 in New Delhi, Odisha announced an 870-acre 'Odisha Silicon Valley' at Naraj near Cuttack for semiconductor, electronics and IT industries. The site sits on the Cuttack-Bhubaneswar corridor beside the Mahanadi, giving fabs the water and power they need, with multimodal links to Paradip and Dhamra ports. The state drew investment proposals worth about Rs 23,600 crore with the potential to create 6,100 jobs, and offered an extra 25% fiscal support to India Semiconductor Mission-approved projects. A Letter of Intent was signed with QuadQuantum for silicon carbide substrate wafers, at the same SEMICON India edition where L&T Semiconductor unveiled its first silicon carbide chip platform.
Odisha's capital is Bhubaneswar and the Mahanadi is its largest river | Paradip and Dhamra are ports on the Odisha coast, Paradip being one of India's major ports | The India Semiconductor Mission functions under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY)
