PM Modi's Kyrgyzstan Visit: SCO Summit, 6th World Nomad Games and Bilateral Meetings

Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed a two-day visit to Kyrgyzstan from 31 August to 1 September 2026 — the second leg of his Central Asia tour after Uzbekistan — at the invitation of President Sadyr Japarov, to attend the 26th SCO Summit in Bishkek. Alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, he attended the opening of the 6th World Nomad Games, a biennial traditional sports event held in Bishkek from 31 August to 6 September. Modi held bilateral meetings with several SCO leaders and gifted President Japarov a ten-volume English Mahabharata translated by Bibek Debroy and a Ladakhi Tsugdul blanket.
