S&P Global Ratings Raises India's FY27 GDP Growth Forecast to 7.0%
S&P Global Ratings, in its report 'Economic Outlook Asia-Pacific Q4 2026: Exports, Domestic Demand Will Shore Up Growth', raised India's GDP growth forecast for FY27 to 7.0% from 6.6% — an upgrade of 40 basis points. The agency cited robust industrial activity, healthy consumption, strong goods exports and accelerating government investment. It expects growth to moderate in the second half of FY27 as the boost from GST rationalisation and income-tax cuts fades. Beyond FY27, S&P projects 7.2% in FY28, followed by 7.0% in FY29 and 6.8% in FY30. The upgrade follows a similar round of forecast revisions by other agencies tracking India this month.
