NASA's SpaceX Crew-12 Returns to Earth After a 237-Day Mission Aboard the ISS
NASA's SpaceX Crew-12 mission ended on 8 October 2026 when Crew Dragon Freedom splashed down in the Pacific Ocean off Los Angeles at 8:34 a.m. PDT. The four-member crew — NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, ESA's Sophie Adenot and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev — had launched on 13 February 2026 and spent 237 days in orbit, travelling more than 100 million miles across over 3,792 orbits of Earth. Aboard the International Space Station they ran experiments on stem-cell production for cell-based therapies, on-demand intravenous fluid generation for deep-space missions, and how physical characteristics affect blood flow in spaceflight.
The International Space Station orbits at roughly 400 km altitude and completes about 16 orbits a day | It is run by five agencies - NASA, Roscosmos, ESA, JAXA and CSA - and has been continuously crewed since November 2000 | SpaceX's Crew Dragon has flown NASA's Commercial Crew Program missions since Demo-2 in 2020
