Suryapath Tiranga: India's Global Tricolour Relay Spans 54 Countries
India's Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Culture organised "Suryapath Tiranga," a coordinated flag-hoisting relay that moved from east to west following the path of the rising sun, across 54 Indian diplomatic missions in 54 countries, to mark the 80th Independence Day. The 19-hour relay began at 1:30 AM IST in Suva, Fiji and concluded around 8:30 PM IST at the Indian Consulate in San Francisco, passing through New Zealand, Australia, Japan, South Korea, China, Indonesia, Singapore, the Maldives, Pretoria, Riga, Reykjavik and London along the way. It was organised under the "Har Ghar Tiranga 2026" campaign (9-17 August 2026).
