World Arthritis Day was observed on 12 October 2026 with the theme "Achieve Your Dreams", championed by the European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR). The day was established in 1996 by Arthritis and Rheumatism International (ARI) to build awareness of arthritis and other rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs), which affect hundreds of millions of people and rank among the leading causes of disability worldwide. For India the message runs alongside the non-communicable disease push through Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and the e-Sanjeevani teleconsultation platform, which crossed 50 crore consultations earlier in October 2026.
