Expected criteria below follow the previous Punjab Police SI recruitment, which this ASI recruitment replaces: graduation in any discipline, age 18–28 with Punjab-pattern relaxations, and Punjabi passed at Matriculation level — mandatory in every recent Punjab Government recruitment. - Bachelor's degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognised university (expected — per the previous SI recruitment)
- Punjabi passed at Matriculation (Class 10) level or equivalent (expected — mandatory in every recent Punjab Govt. recruitment)
- Specialist posts (ASI Steno / Computer Operator, if notified) may require stenography speed or computer qualifications in addition

- PMT (height measurement) and PST (physical events) are expected to be qualifying stages, as in the previous SI and Constable 2026 recruitments.
