Candidates must meet the education, age and (for reservation) Punjab-domicile requirements. Jail Warder is for male candidates and Matron for female candidates; PwD candidates are not eligible.

Qualification

Educational qualification

  • Passed 10+2 (or equivalent) from a recognised board/university
  • Must have passed Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject at Matriculation (10th) level, or an equivalent Punjabi qualification

Domicile

Reservation benefits apply only to bona-fide residents of Punjab as per Punjab Government rules.

Is Punjabi compulsory for PSSSB Jail Warder?

Yes. Candidates must have passed Punjabi at Matriculation (10th) level, and Part-A of the written exam is a qualifying Punjabi language paper requiring at least 50%. Part-A marks are not counted towards merit.
