All 3 Sufi Tradition questions the Punjab PSC asked between 2019 and 2024, each with a worked answer and the exam it came from. First 10 free to read.
Free to read, with the worked answer and the exam each one came from. The book prints this topic in the order the Commission favours, so these are the ones to know first.
The dargah of Haider Sheikh (Sheikh Sadruddin Sadar-i-Jahan), the 15th-century Sufi saint who founded the town, is at Malerkotla. Malerkotla was the only Muslim-ruled princely state of Punjab; it merged into PEPSU (Patiala and East Punjab States Union) in 1948 and became Punjab's 23rd district in 2021. The Nawab of Malerkotla, Sher Mohammad Khan, is remembered for his 'haa da naara' protesting the execution of the younger Sahibzadas at Sirhind.
Hazrat Mian Mir of Lahore (1550–1635) belonged to the Qadiri silsila, the order founded by Abdul Qadir Jilani of Baghdad; he was also the spiritual guide of prince Dara Shikoh. By Sikh tradition Guru Arjan Dev invited him to lay the foundation stone of Harmandir Sahib in 1588.
Shah Hussain (1538-1599) of Lahore composed short Punjabi lyrics built around a refrain and meant to be sung. This form is known as the kafi. His best known one is 'Mai ni main kinnu akhan'. Bulleh Shah and Sultan Bahu carried the kafi forward, and it remains the signature form of Punjabi Sufi verse. Qasida and rubai are Persian and Arabic forms. A hamd is a hymn in praise of God.
The Commission set 3 Sufi Tradition questions across 5 papers between 2019–2024. That is the whole set, not a sample — every one of them is in the book, and the 3 most-asked are on this page free.
Not in this set — each of these 3 was set once in the years covered. Questions elsewhere in the book do repeat, and carry a badge saying how often.
Here. Every question on this page is a solved MCQ: the four options as printed, the correct answer, and a worked explanation in plain English — not just a letter. The rest of the 3 are in the book, in the same form.
Switch to Attempt mode at the top of the questions. You get one question at a time and it is marked the moment you pick an option, with the reason underneath — the same way the exam feels, on your phone.
The questions are on screen rather than in a downloadable file, so they stay current and correct. The printed book has all 3 of these plus the rest of the Punjab GK section, and every buyer gets the whole thing online as well.
The exams behind these questions, most first. A paper here is a sitting: a question set in two papers of the same sitting counts once.
