DRDO Successfully Tests Indigenous Military Combat Parachute System at 22,000 Feet in Ladakh

The DRDO successfully tested the indigenous Military Combat Parachute System (MCPS) at the Nyoma-Mudh Drop Zone in Leh, Ladakh, with jumps from 22,000 feet AMSL in temperatures near -15 degrees Celsius. The system was designed by the Aerial Delivery Research and Development Establishment (ADRDE), Agra, with life-support subsystems from the Defence Bioengineering and Electromedical Laboratory (DEBEL), Bengaluru. Test jumpers used an indigenous para computer, oxygen system and specialised jumpsuits. The MCPS offers a lower descent rate, improved steering and NavIC compatibility, and supports HALO, HAMO and HAHO special-operations profiles.
