International Youth Day 2026 Observed with Theme 'Different Contexts, Common Aspirations'
International Youth Day is observed annually on 12 August. The 2026 theme is 'Different Contexts, Common Aspirations', recognising that while young people live in diverse social, economic and cultural realities, they share common goals - good health, quality education, meaningful participation, decent work, dignity and a sustainable future. The day is anchored by three sub-themes: Global Solidarity, Shared Challenges and Youth Innovation. The United Nations commemorates the day through an online campaign. International Youth Day was designated by the UN General Assembly in 1999 and first observed in 2000.
