Karnataka Bans Analogue Paneer Sold as 'Paneer' for One Year

Karnataka's Food Safety Division has prohibited the manufacture, storage, distribution and sale of analogue paneer sold as "paneer" for one year, from 17 August 2026 to 17 August 2027. Analogue paneer mimics dairy paneer but substitutes vegetable oil or vegetable fat for milk fat and milk solids. The Food Safety Commissioner issued the order under Sections 30(2)(a), 18 and 29 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006; it covers dairy analogues lacking FSSAI-prescribed standards, while processed cheese, frozen desserts and mixed fat spreads stay exempt. Health Minister U. T. Khader warned hotels using substitutes. Karnataka joins Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

The Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) signed two MoUs — with the UNDP and CivicDataLab — at Bhubaneswar in September 2026 to strengthen the state's disaster risk management ecosystem. Andhra Pradesh Approves India's First Dedicated Quantum and AI University Campus at Amaravati

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu approved India's first dedicated Quantum and AI University campus, to be built in Amaravati by the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), an autonomous society under MeitY. The campus spans 8.5 acres with an investment of Rs 730.70 crore over five years, fully funded by a Government of India grant-in-aid. It will offer UG, PG, PhD, diploma and executive programmes in Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, VLSI and semiconductor fabrication. It complements the Amaravati Quantum Valley facility, built with German technology, due for completion by December 2026 and operations from January 2027.

UP Cabinet Approves 'Lokmata Ahilyabai Matrushakti Yojana' for Lifelong Free Bus Travel for Women Aged 60 and Above

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, approved the Lokmata Ahilyabai Matrushakti Yojana, giving lifelong free bus travel to women aged 60 and above on all UPSRTC buses across the state. Eligible women can travel by showing a valid government ID such as a Voter ID or Aadhaar card, and UPSRTC will issue special smart cards for systematic implementation. Andhra Pradesh and the United Kingdom Sign G2G MoU to Develop Amaravati as a Smart, Sustainable Capital

The Government of Andhra Pradesh and the United Kingdom signed a government-to-government MoU at the Secretariat in Velagapudi, Amaravati, covering urban development, infrastructure and advanced technology. It supports infrastructure planning across Amaravati and 123 municipalities in roads, drainage, water supply and waste management, and promotes Intelligent Transport Systems, Building Information Modelling and Digital Twins.
