Andhra Pradesh Approves India's First Dedicated Quantum and AI University Campus at Amaravati
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu approved India's first dedicated Quantum and AI University campus, to be built in Amaravati by the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), an autonomous society under MeitY. The campus spans 8.5 acres with an investment of Rs 730.70 crore over five years, fully funded by a Government of India grant-in-aid. It will offer UG, PG, PhD, diploma and executive programmes in Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, VLSI and semiconductor fabrication. It complements the Amaravati Quantum Valley facility, built with German technology, due for completion by December 2026 and operations from January 2027.
