OSDMA Signs MoUs with UNDP and CivicDataLab to Strengthen Odisha's Disaster Risk Management

The Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) signed two MoUs — with the UNDP and CivicDataLab — at Bhubaneswar in September 2026 to strengthen the state's disaster risk management ecosystem. Under the UNDP pact, a Hazard, Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (HRVA) will be conducted across all 30 districts of Odisha to build a digital evidence base for mitigation, preparedness and climate-resilient planning. CivicDataLab will implement the Intelligent Data Solutions for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDS-DRR) platform, integrating government data with real-time analytics for OSDMA and District Disaster Management Authorities. The GIS-enabled platforms will focus initially on floods, coastal flooding and heatwaves, supporting Odisha's "Zero Casualty" goal.

Tamil Nadu Announces World-Class Olympic City at Semmencheri in Chennai

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay announced the creation of a world-class Tamil Nadu Olympic City at Semmencheri in Chennai, replacing the earlier Global Sports City plan with a larger and more comprehensive project aimed at strengthening sports infrastructure and improving India's medal prospects. Andhra Pradesh Approves India's First Dedicated Quantum and AI University Campus at Amaravati

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu approved India's first dedicated Quantum and AI University campus, to be built in Amaravati by the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), an autonomous society under MeitY. The campus spans 8.5 acres with an investment of Rs 730.70 crore over five years, fully funded by a Government of India grant-in-aid. It will offer UG, PG, PhD, diploma and executive programmes in Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, VLSI and semiconductor fabrication. It complements the Amaravati Quantum Valley facility, built with German technology, due for completion by December 2026 and operations from January 2027.

Andhra Pradesh and the United Kingdom Sign G2G MoU to Develop Amaravati as a Smart, Sustainable Capital

The Government of Andhra Pradesh and the United Kingdom signed a government-to-government MoU at the Secretariat in Velagapudi, Amaravati, covering urban development, infrastructure and advanced technology.
