Cabinet Clears Revamped Khelo India Scheme with Rs 36,441 Crore Sports Outlay
The Union Cabinet approved a revamped Khelo India Scheme together with enhanced Assistance to National Sports Federations (ANSFs), with a combined allocation of Rs 36,441 crore, to strengthen sports infrastructure, identify young talent, improve athlete training and support national federations. Khelo India was launched in 2018 under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MoYAS); its components include the Khelo India Youth Games, University Games, Winter Games and Para Games, and the network of Khelo India Centres (KICs). Union Sports Minister: Mansukh Mandaviya. India's stated target is a top-10 finish at the LA 2028 Olympics.
