Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod Takes Over as Deputy Chief of Naval Staff
Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod assumed charge as Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (DCNS) of the Indian Navy in August 2026, succeeding Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti, who superannuated on 31 July 2026. A Communication and Electronic Warfare specialist commissioned into the Navy on 1 July 1990, he earlier served as Director General Naval Operations (DGNO) and played a key role in Operation Sindoor and maritime-security operations. He is a recipient of the AVSM (2024) and the Yudh Seva Medal (YSM, 2025).
