  • Koel of Punjab = Surinder Kaur, not her elder sister Prakash Kaur.
  • Father of the Punjabi novel = Nanak Singh, but the first Punjabi novel (Sundari) was written by Bhai Vir Singh.

WHAT IS A CADRE?

Every IPS officer belongs to one state cadre (parent state). K.P.S. Gill's cadre was Assam–Meghalaya. He served in Punjab on a posting outside his own cadre — so the answer to "which cadre?" is Assam, not Punjab.
