'ਖੁਸ਼ਬੋ' ਇਸਤਰੀ-ਲਿੰਗ ਨਾਂਵ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੋੜਾ ਹੈ; ਅਜਿਹੇ ਨਾਂਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਵਚਨ 'ਆਂ' ਲਾ ਕੇ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ—ਖੁਸ਼ਬੋਆਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਖੁਸ਼ਬੂ → ਖੁਸ਼ਬੂਆਂ, ਬਹੂ → ਬਹੂਆਂ। 'ਖੁਸ਼ਬੂ' ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਇਕਵਚਨ ਰੂਪ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ 'ਖੁਸ਼ਬੋਈ/ਖੁਸ਼ਬੋਈਆਂ' ਕੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਚਲਿਤ ਰੂਪ ਨਹੀਂ।

ਜਿਵੇਂ 'ਸਹੁਰਾ' ਦਾ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਲਿੰਗ 'ਸੱਸ' ਹੈ, ਉਵੇਂ 'ਪਤਿਅਹੁਰਾ' (ਪਤਿ + ਸਹੁਰਾ) ਦਾ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਲਿੰਗ ਪਤੀਹਸ (ਪਤਿ + ਸੱਸ) ਹੈ। ਬਾਕੀ ਤਿੰਨ ਰੂਪ ਸ਼ਬਦ-ਜੋੜ ਵਿਗਾੜ ਕੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਗਏ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਰੂਪ ਹਨ।
